Privacy policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
WheelTryOn (“we”, “us”) runs wheeltryon.com, a website that shows you what aftermarket wheels would look like on a photo of your car. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@wheeltryon.com.
What we collect
- Photos you upload. Pictures of your car, and of wheels if you upload your own. We store them so we can make your renders and show them in your history.
- Renders. The images we generate from your photos, plus details about each one (which wheel, resolution, when it was made, and whether it was free or paid).
- Car details. When you upload a photo, we automatically identify the car (make, model, approximate years, color and body type) to label your photo and show facts about it. You can correct this.
- Account details. Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. We keep a record that your email was verified.
- Purchases. What you bought, the amount, the date and a Stripe reference. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and never reach us.
- Marketing preference. Whether you ticked the box to receive wheel ideas and offers, and when you unsubscribed.
- Usage events. Basic actions such as uploading, rendering, opening the paywall and purchasing, so we can understand and improve the product.
- Abuse prevention. A random identifier stored in a cookie, a fingerprint of each uploaded photo (so the same photo can't claim unlimited free renders), and a one-way hashed version of your IP address. We do not store your IP address itself.
Sign in with Google
If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares the following with us: your email address, whether it is verified, your name, and a Google account identifier. We request only the basic sign-in scopes (openid, email, profile). We do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive, calendar or any other Google data.
- How we use it: only to create and sign you in to your WheelTryOn account, keep your credits and renders together across devices, and send you the emails described below.
- Sharing: we do not sell, rent or share Google user data with anyone for advertising. It is stored with our database provider (listed below) only to run the service.
- Retention and deletion: we keep it while your account exists. Email hello@wheeltryon.com and we will delete your account and Google data within 30 days. You can also remove WheelTryOn's access at any time from your Google Account (Security, then Third-party connections).
WheelTryOn's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use it
- To make your renders and keep your photos, renders, credits and passes available on any device you sign in on.
- To process payments, add credits, and send receipts and sign-in codes.
- To prevent abuse of free renders and protect the service from bots.
- To understand how the product is used and fix problems.
- Only if you opted in: to email you wheel ideas and offers. Every such email has a one-click unsubscribe.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos to advertise without your permission.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run WheelTryOn. Each receives only what it needs for its job:
- fal.ai: generates renders from your car photo and the chosen wheel image.
- Google (Gemini API): identifies the car in your photo and writes facts about it.
- Stripe: payments and receipts for purchases.
- Resend: sends our emails (sign-in codes, receipts, and marketing if you opted in).
- Cloudflare: stores images (R2) and checks for bots (Turnstile).
- Neon: hosts our database.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Roboflow (if enabled): checks that an uploaded photo shows a wheel.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or our users' safety.
Cookies
We use one essential first-party cookie (wt_anon) that remembers your session so your renders and credits stay with you. Sign-in, payment and bot-check providers (Google, Stripe, Cloudflare) may set their own cookies when you use those features. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising tools later, we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
- Original uploads are deleted automatically within 30 days. We keep a resized copy of each car photo for your history.
- Photos, renders and account details are kept while your account exists, until you ask us to delete them.
- Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes.
- Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, even if you delete your account.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correction and deletion: email hello@wheeltryon.com from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Marketing: unsubscribe with the link in any marketing email. Codes and receipts will still arrive when you ask for them.
- Google access: remove it from your Google Account at any time.
- California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- EEA and UK residents may also object to or restrict processing and request a copy of their data. We process data to provide the service you asked for (contract), for abuse prevention and improvement (legitimate interests), and for marketing only with your consent.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. Access to our systems is limited to the people who run WheelTryOn. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you.
Children
WheelTryOn is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll tell signed-in users by email. Contact: hello@wheeltryon.com. See also our terms.
